TN MRB Health Inspector 2025 – Eligibility Criteria
Before applying online, candidates must ensure they meet the educational qualification, age, and other eligibility conditions specified by TN MRB.
Educational Qualification
Candidates should possess:
- Higher Secondary (+2) Examination with Biology or Botany and Zoology as main subjects.
- Must have passed Tamil language as a subject in SSLC level.
- Must possess a Two Years Multipurpose Health Worker (Male) / Health Inspector / Sanitary Inspector Course Certificate granted by the Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Chennai.
Note:
- Candidates who have completed a One-Year Sanitary Inspector Course before 12.11.1996 are eligible under a one-time measure as per government orders.
- Equivalent qualifications recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu are also accepted.
Age Limit (as on 01.07.2025)

TN MRB Health Inspector 2025 – Selection Process
The selection will be based purely on Computer Based Test (CBT) marks, subject to candidates qualifying in the Tamil Language Eligibility Test.
Stage 1: Tamil Language Eligibility Test
- Marks: 50
- Level: SSLC Standard
- Qualifying Marks: 40% (20 marks)
- Marks will not be counted for ranking; this test is mandatory for eligibility.
Stage 2: Subject Paper (Health Inspector)
- Duration: 2 hours
- Marks: 100
- Objective-type (multiple choice) questions in Health Inspector subject.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- SC / SCA / ST: 30%
- Others: 35%
Normalization
If the CBT is held in multiple sessions, scores will be normalized to ensure fairness.
Final Merit List
The final selection list will be prepared based on normalized marks obtained in the subject paper and incentive marks (if applicable) for COVID duty.
Incentive Marks for COVID Duty
Candidates who have rendered COVID duty in Government Medical Institutions will be awarded incentive marks as follows:
